spb.rf became the second Russian regional zone written in Russian after .moscow
Corporate registrar Ru-Center and the «Roscongress» Foundation announced the start of open registration of names in the new national Russian domain zone spb.rf.
In honor of the opening of a new domain zone, Ru-Center presented the first domains to St. Petersburg and the «Roscongress» — city.spb.rf and forum.spb.rf.

The new Russian Cyrillic domain zone spb.rf has become the second Russian regional zone written in Russian after .moskva. The .рф zone was created in 2010 and became the first domain zone in the world in the Cyrillic alphabet. The popularity of the .рф zone continues to grow rapidly today due to the current trend towards Russification of brands, a large number of free names and ease of use for Russian users. In total, more than 777.3 thousand domains are available today in the .рф domain zone.
The cost of domains in the new zone will start from 189 rubles. Ru-Center has become the official registrar of the spb.rf domain zone. The Fund for Assistance to the Development of Internet Technologies and Infrastructure (FAITID) is responsible for the technical launch of the zone.
