Huawei returned to producing its own Kirin single-chip systems, and thanks to this it immediately found itself in the top five largest chip manufacturers.
According to Counterpoint analysts, Huawei's HiSilicon ranked fifth in the list of largest chip makers with a 3% share. Thus, it has overtaken Unisoc, which has also grown significantly in the last couple of years, but still only holds 2%. The Chinese giant is still far from Samsung with its 7%, but in fact Huawei has just started using the Kirin SoC after a long break.
Also on the list of leaders is MediaTek with 15%, Apple with 31% and Qualcomm with 40%.
It is important to say that these data are given in monetary terms. In terms of quantity, we recall that MediaTek has long surpassed Qualcomm, and Unisoc would most likely have surpassed Huawei, but its platforms are too cheap, so Huawei is ahead in terms of money.
