It became known that the Nizhny Novgorod automobile plant GAZ has filed an application to register a new trademark Volga. According to Rospatent, the application was received on March 14, 2024 and was published on March 15. The Volga trademark is planned to be registered under 22 classes of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICGS), it is going to be used for cars and trucks, buses, spare parts, as well as accessories, office supplies and even clothing.
We have already written that GAZ plans to restart the production of cars under its own brand. It is expected that the production of «Volga» the new generation will start in mid-2024. At the initial stage, production will be organized with a technology partner from China, and then gradual localization will be carried out: the production of body parts, welding and assembly will be carried out in Russia. The first new «Volga» Changan Raeton Plus sedan may become: a similar car without nameplates was recently spotted at the GAZ plant.
