Previously it was planned to restart the site before the end of 2023

The restart of the AGR Russia car plant, which was previously owned by Volkswagen, is postponed to 2024. The governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, stated this in an interview with Nika TV.

I simply cannot announce these negotiations that are ongoing and the results that we have received. Because, firstly, this is a trade secret, and secondly, we simply see how competitors hang on our every word and immediately run to put a spoke in our wheels. But we will still launch this plant. What we didn’t do at the end of this year, we will do at the beginning of next year. And everything will develop as it should.
