United Engine Corporation, part of Rostec, reported that the latest Russian turboshaft engines VK-1600V and VK-650V are at the «finish line» development.

The VK-1600V is being created not only for the Ka-62, but also for multi-purpose and special helicopters with a take-off weight of 5-8 tons. As Rostec said, today there are no domestic engines of this size. The uniqueness of the motor lies in the fact that electronic design and 3D printing were used during development.
According to official data, the VK-1600V at 2.5-minute power mode with one engine not running will be able to produce 1750 hp, engine power in takeoff mode — 1400 hp, specific fuel consumption at takeoff — 0.200 kg/hp · h. Dry weight of the power plant — only 210 kg. VK-1600V is being created to replace the French Ardiden 3G.
VK-650V will be used in Russian multi-purpose and special helicopters with a take-off weight of up to 4 tons. These include «Anasat» and Ka-226.
