Intel is working on five technical processes in parallel, but outsources 30% of its production

Mostly TSMC

Intel wants to become the second semiconductor manufacturer in the world after TSMC by 2030. But for now she herself has to use the services of the same TSMC, and quite actively.

According to recent data from Intel itself, the company now outsources production of 30% of all its products!

This is a lot, and Intel wants to reduce this figure. The company says it hopes to reduce this figure to 20%, but this will happen only when new technological units are put into operation.

The company also said its semiconductor division lost about $7 billion last year as it invested in new capacity and tools for next-generation process technologies.

Recall that Intel is now actively working on technological processes 20A and 18A, but, as it turned out, the second will become widespread only in 2026.
