And Volkswagen joined the Chinese price wars
The SAIC Volkswagen joint venture has launched a new version of the Volkswagen Passat on the Chinese market. The 2024 car was called Outstanding Edition, and its main difference from last year’s Passat was the price: it decreased by 2.8 thousand dollars.
The 2024 Passat 380TSI Outstanding Edition is available in six trim levels. The cost of the basic — 26.2 thousand dollars, top-end — 31 thousand dollars. In addition to the fact that the car itself has become cheaper, buyers are promised a voucher for $280 (essentially a discount). The buyer will also receive three years of free service. And if you don’t have the entire amount on hand at once, then you can buy a car in interest-free installments for five years.
The car is equipped with various driver assistance systems (including adaptive cruise control, parking assistant, all-round visibility system), matrix headlights, electric tailgate, and a media system with a 9.2-inch diagonal screen. In the top version — power sunshade on the rear window, heated steering wheel, head-up screen, heated and massage front seats, Harman Kardon acoustics with 12 speakers.
All Volkswagen Passat 380TSI 2024 Outstanding Edition are equipped with a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing 220 hp. and 7-speed «robot».
