The price decline is affecting

In the context of a contraction in the Russian automobile market in May, some Chinese brands showed an increase in sales of their models. According to a study by Otkritie Auto, more than two dozen Chinese models have sharply increased sales volumes, with some models showing triple-digit growth, and 13 models showing double-digit growth.

The leader in terms of growth was the large SUV Changan CS95, whose sales in May soared by 257% compared to April. This happened after the distributor reduced the price for this model to 3.35 million rubles due to discounts and support programs. A similar situation was observed with other Changan models, such as the brand’s bestseller CS55, the Uni-V liftback and the compact crossover CS35.

The DFM Aeolus Shane Max sedan (+171%) also demonstrated rapid sales growth after the manufacturer reduced the price for this model to 2.2 million rubles. The Jetour brand also received significant support from the distributor, whose T2 SUV gained 24%.

Cars of Volkswagen's sister brand, the Chinese brand Jetta — crossovers VS-5 and sedans VA-3 — also increased due to discounts on 2023 models.
