The manufacturer has completely imported the main components of the crane installation; there are no analogues in Russia yet
In Russia, special truck cranes were built to move radioactive materials: nuclear fuel and radiation sources. Siberian Chemical Plant and JSC «Atomspetstrans» stated that they were the first in the industry to develop and approve the technical specifications for the design of such truck cranes, and their production was carried out by the Galich Truck Crane Plant. Acceptance of two special series cranes took place in December 2023, and now they have been sent to their permanent location in Seversk, Tomsk region and are being prepared for acceptance into operation.
The equipment will be used for loading and unloading operations with radioactive substances. The maximum lifting capacity of a special truck crane is 50 tons, the boom length — 25 meters. The manufacturer carried out complete import substitution of the main components of the crane installation. Each winch of the lifting mechanism has two brakes, and the cranes themselves are equipped with operating parameter recorders. In the event of an unforeseen situation, an emergency shutdown of the lifting mechanism or the entire crane will occur, as noted by the manufacturer.
It is reported that this is the first such project for the industry; there are no analogues of this technology in Russia yet. In the future, such truck cranes will help to safely move cargo at all sites of the state corporation Rosatom: applications for the production of similar special cranes in 2024 –2025 have already been submitted.
