The start of production is scheduled for the end of 2024
At SPIEF-2024, at the stand of the Samara region, AvtoVAZ presented for the first time a pre-production modification of the Lada Vesta with manual control. The system allows people with impaired function of one or both legs to drive a car.
The car is based on the serial Lada Vesta with an automatic continuously variable transmission. At the same time, in the demonstrated car, the AT is combined with a 1.6-liter engine producing 106 hp. This power unit is currently in pre-production.
A manual car is equipped with a special lever to the left of the steering wheel. The lever is mechanically connected to the pedals, when moving towards you the accelerator is activated, when moving away from you the brake system is activated.
AvtoVAZ explained:
This control scheme is the most ergonomic, and in addition, it retains the ability to drive the car in the usual way, using pedals. A similar system is already commercially used on Lada Granta cars with manual control.
It is planned that the Lada Vesta with manual control will be produced in sedan and station wagon body types. The start of production is scheduled for the end of 2024. The company will announce prices and configurations closer to release.
