“Angry Birds” will return to theaters for the third time and present new animated adventures of Red and his friends. The project will be Rovio's first theatrical release since its acquisition by Sega.
Sega Corporation, Rovio Entertainment and the production company Prime Focus Studios are working on the Angry Birds Movie 3. The animation partner is DNEG Animation. The first two films grossed more than $500 million worldwide and Sega is looking to repeat the success.
John Rice, whose portfolio includes Rick and Morty, will take over the director's chair. “Angry Birds Movie 2” and “Beavis and Butt-Head”. The script is written by Thurop Van Orman, an American comics artist known for the Adventure Time and Gravity Falls franchises.
Jason Sudeikis and Josh Gad will return to voice the roles of Red and Chuck. It is unknown whether the film will have an official Russian localization. On the occasion of the announcement, Sega published a short teaser of the project.
