The plant is still under construction, launch is scheduled for 2026
The head of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, said that the products of the plant for the production of lithium-ion cells and energy storage systems, which is currently being built in the region, have been sold out for several years in advance. Rosatom began construction of this plant last year on the site of the unfinished and mothballed Baltic NPP, its launch is planned in 2026.
This is the largest plant in our region for the production of electrical energy storage systems. Batteries that will be used in a large number of areas of the economy. Well, of course, first of all it will be batteries for public transport, batteries for electric vehicles. We really hope that these electric batteries from the Rosatom plant will be used, including by our already mentioned «Avtotor» , but not only them. I can say that all the products of this plant have already been sold for several years in advance and we really hope that we will also see the second stage of this plant. We will develop this project further.

It is expected that the products of the Kaliningrad plant will be in demand mainly by domestic automakers, and the enterprise will be able to make a significant contribution to the implementation of state policy in the field of import substitution. The total capacity of produced batteries will be at least 3 GWh per year, but the production capacity of the plant can be increased to 12 GWh.
