The country's Ministry of Energy is already planning to develop the infrastructure of charging stations

According to Deputy Minister of Energy of Belarus Denis Moroz, the number of electric vehicles on the Belarusian market by 2030 could reach 300 thousand units. He mentioned this while speaking at a round table of the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council. There are now 11 thousand electric vehicles registered in the country, and if in the near future the same rate of growth in the number of electric vehicles is maintained as now, then by 2030 there may already be 300 thousand, Moroz said.

The Deputy Minister of Energy also believes that such a number of electric vehicles will already create a serious load on the energy system, and it will be necessary to take «investment management decisions related to infrastructure», that is, to develop a charging system stations. Now more than 1,000 such stations have been put into operation in the republic. There is also the task of increasing the power of charging stations; in addition, super-powerful and super-fast charging complexes must necessarily include storage systems in order to even out the electrical load schedule, Moroz noted.
