It is possible to expand the range of motors

Photos and a video demonstrating the assembly of engines for Haval cars in the Tula region were published by the editor-in-chief of the magazine «Behind the Wheel» Maxim Kadakov.

Construction of the engine plant began in November 2020. The Chinese promised to launch it in 2022 – but better late than never. The plant was launched in accordance with the plan for the localization of key components provided for in the special investment contract (SPIC), which was signed in September 2020. Engine plant with an area of ​​10,000 m² located on the territory of the Haval assembly plant in the industrial park «Uzlovaya» in the Tula region. The enterprise created 300 additional jobs.

In addition to the announced engines of 1.5 and 2.0 liters, there is an opportunity to expand the range of engines. So far, only assembly has been mastered, without machining. The plant uses five industrial manipulators that perform complex technological operations with high accuracy and speed.

All assembled engines are tested on a stand: «The first launch is made, which simulates operation in real conditions. Then the engine is sent to the finished product warehouse and enters the assembly shop for installation on the car».

The plant plans to produce more than 100 thousand engines per year, they should be installed on 90% of Russian Havals (Jolion, F7, F7x and Dargo).
