AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov spoke about his impressions of driving a Lada Iskra, which he drove at the company's training ground.

As we already reported today, Maxim Sokolov said that the official premiere of the Lada Iskra will take place on June 5 as part of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024).
Iskra will be sold in parallel with the Lada Granta for some time, but will ultimately replace AvtoVAZ's bestseller. Previously, the car was known as the second generation Lada Granta. The cost of the project is estimated at 37 billion rubles, while the car was supposed to appear in 2022, but in the spring of 2022 it became known about the departure of the Renault concern from Russia and the transfer of AvtoVAZ to state control, after which the plans shifted.
The project itself was under threat of closure due to the exclusion of AvtoVAZ from the global system of suppliers of components to Renault and Nissan. But the project was saved, and the launch was postponed to the end of 2024.
