BAIC continues to actively develop its line of SUVs. Next was the compact Beijing BJ30, which is positioned as a competitor to the Tank 300 and Jetour T2.
The
BJ30 can essentially be described as a smaller version of the Beijing BJ40. Its dimensions are 4730 mm in length, 1910 mm in width and 1757 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2820 mm. This is a noticeable increase compared to the old BJ30 model, whose dimensions were 4505 x 1855 x 1710 mm, and the wheelbase was 2675 mm. In terms of dimensions, the new product is in the UAZ «Patriot class.
The Tank 300, with a spare wheel on the tailgate, which the BJ30 does not have, measures 4760 x 1930 x 1903 mm and has a wheelbase of 2750 mm, suggesting that the new BAIC will have more interior space.
The Beijing BJ30 will be equipped with a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine producing 188 hp, which will be combined with an automatic transmission, similar to the previous model.
Price has not yet been announced, but it is known that the current model in China costs from $12,000. Let us remind you that BAIC is officially sold in Russia, production of some models is localized in the country.
