Problems are not only in this game
Modern Intel processors are distinguished by very high operating frequencies. It turns out that this can sometimes be bad. At a minimum, the developers of the new game Outpost: Infinity Siege advise owners to reduce the frequencies of their CPUs.
The game came out quite recently and had a number of problems at launch. The developers quickly resolved some of them, but some remain for now. And as one of the possible solutions, the developers from Team Ranger advised owners of top-end Core i9-13900K and Core i9-14900K processors to reduce the frequency to 5 GHz. Of course, this automatically applies to the Core i9-13900KF/KS and Core i9-14900KF/KS. Interestingly, this advice is given only to those whose PCs, in addition to the specified CPUs, also have a GeForce RTX 4090. The developers also advise switching the power settings to energy saving mode.
Of course, one could say that this is just a problem with one specific game, but the point is that since February, owners of various Core i7 and Core i9 CPUs of the 13th and 14th generations began to complain, that they face frequent crashes in various games. It seems that this mainly affects Unreal Engine projects. There are also complaints about the software, with the developers of Bink and the Oodle data compressor blaming faulty default BIOS settings. Allegedly, the specified processors consume too much energy under load.
