By transferring the production of Lada Largus from Togliatti to Izhevsk, AvtoVAZ “killed two birds with one stone,” as stated by company president Maxim Sokolov. This will allow the plant in the capital of Udmurtia to restart and free up part of the conveyor belt on the main site for the assembly of the new Aura model and the Vesta B+ crossover.

«We very quickly and flexibly made the decision to transfer the production of Lada Largus to the Izhevsk site, and with such a shot, as they say, „killed two birds with one stone“: we gave a chance to restart Izhevsk plant in full on a high-quality and, I hope, marginal product, and, on the other hand, they freed up part of the first line of our conveyor, where the Lada Vesta is produced, for the Lada Aura product and for the future product — crossover Vesta B+»,— stated Maxim Sokolov.

He added that AvtoVAZ wanted to fill the empty LCV niche with the help of Largus in 2023, but «the situation required a different management decision».

Lada Aura is planned to be released in 2025, as well as a crossover based on Vesta. The budget sedan Iskra will be released before them.
