The Chery Fengyun A8 base is equipped no better than the Lada Vesta, but only AvtoVAZ has a shortage of components, but Chery saves on matches
Chery loudly announced the Fengyun A8 hybrid sedan in China, calling it “the best hybrid family sedan under 21 thousand dollars.” In reality, the car turned out to be even cheaper, since the price of the basic version – only 16.7 thousand dollars. However, as it turns out now, for these 16.7 thousand dollars the buyer receives the bare minimum of options, and the Chinese did not like this.
The basic Chery Fengyun A8 has only two airbags, halogen headlights, no parking sensors and a rear view camera, no cruise control, instead of climate control – a regular air conditioner, and the speakers… only two. It is not surprising that such a package is called beggarly. Against this background, Lada Vesta looks pretty good, especially considering the fact that AvtoVAZ actually has a shortage of components, due, among other things, to American sanctions, but Chery is simply saving on matches.
The Chinese point out that for about the same money (or even much cheaper in the case of Changan and Wuling cars) you can buy BYD Qin Plus DM-i, Changan Qiyuan A05, Wuling Starlight, Geely Galaxy L6 & ;ndash; and they will be much better equipped. In general, the Chinese have canceled «the best hybrid family sedan within 21 thousand dollars».
Recall that this year the Fengyun A8 will officially arrive in Russia, only under a different name. It will be interesting to look at its configuration, and even with reference to the obviously higher price than in China.
