You can vote for a new name: choose from Russian Railways’ options or suggest your own
Russian Railways decided to come up with a new name for the import-substituted “Swallow”. Anyone can take part in choosing the name; you can vote on the Russian Railways website. You can choose a new name for the ES104 electric train from the following options: “Amethyst”, “Baikal”, “Irbis”, “Laska”, “Uralochka” and “Finist” – or suggest your own version of the name.
As we already wrote, on November 27, the ES104 electric train, completely assembled from domestic components, received a certificate of compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union, which makes it possible to begin producing models of the new series. The first four trains have already been sent to the Sverdlovsk Railway, and a total of 12 trains are planned to be delivered by the end of the year.
The new electric train includes five cars, it has 416 seats, while in the Lastochka, built by the Russian company Sinara – Transport Machines together with the German concern Siemens, there were 346. The seats in the cabin are arranged in threes and two in a row, A special feature of the new electric train is a larger number of toilets: three instead of two.
