Global Terranica has announced that it is now accepting pre-orders for its latest all-terrain vehicle, the Expedition. This unique vehicle combines the ability to travel both off-road and on water – thanks to a hybrid powertrain with two traction electric motors. The design of the unusual body was developed by the Russian studio Cardi.
The all-terrain vehicle is based on an aluminum frame on which composite body panels are installed. The interior includes lift-up doors and front and rear hatches for easy access. The interior can be easily transformed, turning it into either a dining area for four people or a bedroom.
Propelled by two electric traction motors, each delivering a maximum output of 82 hp, the Terranica Expedition delivers a total torque of 450 Nm. Additionally, a 54-horsepower generator is provided, which, together with two 150-liter tanks, increases the range to 1000 km. With a cruising speed of 40 km/h, the all-terrain vehicle can accelerate to 70 km/h. With a length of 4.6 meters, the Expedition has a ground clearance of 640 millimeters, weighs 2.4 tons and is capable of carrying up to 600 kg of cargo.
The use of electric motors to drive the tracks has made the design more compact, and instant access to maximum torque makes the Terranica Expedition more capable than conventional tracked all-terrain vehicles. Control is carried out using two pedals and a steering wheel. Electric motors also provide braking function and allow the all-terrain vehicle to turn in place.
At the moment, the price of Terranica Expedition has not been announced. The all-terrain vehicle is undergoing testing, and production is planned for next year. The company assures that the share of foreign components in the design will not exceed 25%.
