The volume of the first batch of hydrogen MAN hTGX is 200 units

Minister of Industry of Belarus Alexander Rogozhnik, at a meeting with Alexander Lukashenko, spoke about BelAZ’s plans for the long term. As it turns out, these plans include the creation of an environmentally friendly 100-ton dump truck.

Such a truck will appear in the BelAZ lineup by 2030. The carrying capacity will be 90-100 tons, it will receive an electric traction drive, and hydrogen will be used as fuel. There are no other details yet.

But there are details about the MAN hTGX hydrogen tractors. The German company announced the release of the first batch of such machines in the amount of 200 pieces; they will be used by cargo carriers in Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Iceland. The vehicles use a hydrogen internal combustion engine H45, built on the basis of the well-known diesel engine D38.

In terms of performance, the MAN H45 is not inferior to a diesel engine. Power is 520 hp, torque — 2500 N·m at 900–1300 rpm. The trucks will be produced with a 6 x 2 and 6 x 4 wheel arrangement, maximum range — 600 km.
