This plane was supposed to be sent to a Chinese customer

As reported by «Technosphere» with reference to a photo published on the RussianPlanes resource, restoration of the airworthiness of the Tu-204 aircraft began in Ulyanovsk – version Tu-204-120S(E).

This cargo airliner first took off in May 2006, and has been in storage since 2009. And now, almost 15 years later, the plane was noticed in the workshop of the Ulyanovsk Aviastar plant. The author of the photo said that the liner is «under modernization».

Tu-204-120С(E) is painted in the colors of the Chinese airline Air China Cargo: in the late 2000s it was supposed to be transferred to the Chinese air carrier, but the contract was suspended.
