He might be quite noisy

Manufacturers of SSDs with PCIe 5.0 are no longer shy about equipping their drives with rather large and sometimes elaborate coolers. Patriot, for example, was the first to decide to install a “turbine” on an SSD.

Centrifugal fans were previously widely used in video cards, although they are now rare. It is not yet known how noisy and effective the Patriot solution will be, but it will definitely help move hot air away from the drive.

The Viper PV553 model will be the first to receive this CO. In general, this is the company’s first SSD with an active cooling system. The company itself says that such CO reduces the temperature by 40% compared to the version without cooling.

As for the SSD itself, it is based on the Phison E26 controller and Micron's latest 232-layer 3D TCL NAND memory. Read speed is stated to be up to 12.4 GB/s, and performance reaches 1.4 million IOPS.
