By the end of next year, approximately 3.5 million such accelerators will be active in the world
Nvidia H100 accelerators will consume more power in the near future than some European countries.
According to the calculations of a Microsoft engineer, one H100 accelerator per year with an average load of 61% (it is not very clear why this figure was taken) consumes about 3740 kW·h of electricity per year. At the end of this year, Nvidia is expected to sell about 1.5 million of these accelerators, and next year — another 2 million. By the end of next year, about 3.5 million H100 will be active in the world with a total consumption of almost 13,100 GW·h.
For comparison: countries such as Georgia or Lithuania consume approximately this much per year, while Latvia consumes half as much.
