The older version costs about 20,000 dollars
The first crossover equipped with the fourth generation Roewe DMH super hybrid system, Roewe D5X, went on sale in China. Price ranges from $16,550 to $20,300.
The dimensions of the new car are 4700 x 1890 x 1664 mm, the wheelbase is 2765 mm. Depending on the version, it comes with 19- or 20-inch wheels. Inside, there is a 24.6-inch dual screen that includes the instrument panel and infotainment screen. Zebra's new smart system helps integrate phone and car navigation. There is a driving assistance system L2.
The car received a 1.5-liter 15FKE hybrid engine with turbocharging, the maximum power of which is 110 kW. A front electric motor with a maximum power of 153 kW is also installed. Acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 6.9 seconds. The all-electric range is 135 km according to CLTC, and the total range — 1300 km, but this is an underestimate. Tests showed different results.
The 15FKE engine used in the fourth generation system uses the Miller cycle and has a thermal efficiency of 43%. A battery with a capacity of 21.5 kWh is installed. During testing earlier this year on Hainan Island, the car traveled a total of 1,621 km with an average fuel consumption of 3.8 L/100 km, significantly better than the official CLTC figure of 5.3 L/100 km.
SAIC says the Roewe D5X features a new-generation ultra-high-strength body shell that contains the highest amount of high-strength steel (79%) and ultra-high-strength steel (44%) in its class. The car has passed the China Automobile Research Institute's extreme safety crash test three times.
