New photos of the Tank 800 confirm that it will be a six-seater. Tank 800 was previously expected to release around the end of the year, but now sources say it will arrive sooner.
Tank 800 will be the most luxurious car from Great Wall Motor. There are even comparisons with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, but perhaps such information is disseminated by the developers themselves. Let us recall that the chairman of the board of Great Wall Motor worked as an employee of the first GWM direct sales store, where he stated that Tank 700 Hi4-T tires dampen road noise better than Rolls Royce Cullinan tires.
In style, it is very similar to the larger version of the Tank 500. It is noteworthy that the Tank 800 retains the familiar door handles. This will be the first three-row Tank with a 2+2+2 seating arrangement. Previous spy shots showed a two-row version of the Tank 800.
It is currently believed that the Tank 800 will be equipped with the same powerplant as the Tank 700 Hi4-T. This means the Hi4-T plug-in hybrid system is built around the 3.0L V6 engine rather than the 2.0L engine found in the rest of the Tank range. The Tank 700 Hi4-T combines the engine with a P2 electric motor, delivering a total output of 385 kW and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The car uses a 9-speed automatic transmission optimized for hybrids. A single front-mounted electric motor delivers up to 120 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque. At the same time, the longitudinal gasoline engine provides power of 265 kW and torque of 560 Nm. The battery will most likely be the same Svolt with a capacity of 37.1 kWh as in the Tank 700 Hi4-T.
The photographs of the chassis show that there is a spare wheel installed underneath. Double wishbone suspension is used front and rear, with the Tank 800 equipped with air suspension.
Prices will likely start around $70,000.
