It will be much more powerful than Omoda C5
Director of the Omoda and Jaecoo brands in Russia Viktor Naschansky told when the new Omoda E5 crossover will appear in the country.
«As for the development strategy of the Omoda and Jaecoo brands, all hybrid and electric cars will be sold within the current dealer network. There are no plans to launch any new brands. This is confirmed by the launch of Omoda E5 in March-April 2024 — our first electric car. The first cars to undergo testing and obtain the necessary documentation have already arrived in the country», — told Victor Nashchansky.
Omoda E5 will not differ in size from Omoda C5, but it will be much more powerful: 225 hp. versus 150 hp the Omoda C5 has a 1.6-liter turbo engine. But the electric car will not have all-wheel drive: one motor will be located on the front axle. The range on one charge will be 430 km.
In equipping the car — dual 12.3-inch screens, infotainment system based on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 SoC, 64-color ambient lighting, etc.
