PlayStation 5 Pro is a console for gaming in 4K/120fps. This is how Sony will promote the console

All thanks to the new upscale technology

According to recent data, the PlayStation 5 Pro console will be released at the end of this year. New data suggests that Sony will promote the new console as a device for gaming in 4K at 120 fps.

Recall that current consoles, both PS5 and Xbox Series X, provide only 30 fps at 4K resolution in most modern games. Some games support 60 fps at dynamic resolution, but there is no talk of 120 fps.

Yes, leaks indicate a significant improvement in the GPU of the updated console, but this in itself would hardly allow for such a significant increase in performance. However, it is reported that Sony's secret will lie in a new image scaling technology using AI, and allegedly at the hardware level. We're probably talking about some version of AMD's FSR technology, but existing AMD consumer GPUs don't have any dedicated units for such tasks, unlike Nvidia GPUs with their tensor cores. Perhaps the PS5 Pro will have something similar to Nvidia's tensor cores, which will improve upscale technology.

It is also important that improving existing games for PS5 Pro will not be labor-intensive, so developers may well release updates to improve performance on the new console.
