Hyundai just unveiled the 2024 Elantra N in the United States yesterday, but the manufacturer is already working on the next-generation model.
Executive technical consultant Albert Biermann confirmed in an interview with Australian magazine CarExpert that the next-generation car will have a more powerful engine.
“Before I left Namyang, I made sure that the Elantra N could use the 2.5-liter turbocharged engine. He fits right in there with all that it entails,” Biermann said. Let us remind you that the Elantra N 2024 has a 276-horsepower 2.0-liter engine.
The former executive vice president and head of BMW performance testing and development worked for the German company for 31 years. Albert Biermann joined Hyundai in April 2015, and three years later he was appointed president and head of Hyundai Motor Group's Research and Development Division.
He played a key role in the development of Division N before retiring as head of R&D at the end of 2021. Since then, he has served as the company's executive technical advisor in Europe.
The 2024 Hyundai Elantra N will arrive at dealers in January; you will learn more about the changes to this model in our announcement.
