In Russia they may allow check-in into hotels with a driver’s license. The Ministry of Economic Development proposes to check into Russian hotels with a car license — they can be presented instead of a passport. Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov spoke about this at a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with the government.
The use of rights when checking into hotels may be allowed from 2025. Right now there is no such possibility, Reshetnikov noted, but the Ministry of Economic Development proposes to introduce this method of registration and give a year to connect the information databases. And approximately from the middle of next year such an opportunity will appear, the minister added.
