The “articulation index” has been measured
Lada Vesta NG (new generation) has reached parity with foreign cars not only in equipment, but also in acoustic comfort. Moreover, comparative tests by AvtoVAZ showed that the Lada Vesta NG is superior to foreign cars in acoustic comfort.
Acoustic comfort in a car is achieved by increasing body rigidity, which in the Lada Vesta NG is several times higher than in older AvtoVAZ models. In addition, you need to carefully select the interior materials and arrange them so that the parts do not rub against each other or creak.
Finally, you need good sound insulation. The Lada Vesta NG is equipped with several dozen different sound insulation elements (sound insulation of varying degrees of thickness and density, special stickers, gaskets and plugs that are inserted into body cavities).
A special non-flammable microfiber is actively used, which weighs almost nothing, but at the same time it absorbs sounds of medium and high frequencies, and also serves as a heat insulator: in winter the car is warmer, and in summer the heat does not penetrate inside. < /p>
To measure acoustic comfort, AvtoVAZ has created a unique laboratory that measures the «articulation index», which shows how comfortable people are talking in a car.
The results are:
- In a tractor, a person will hear at best 20% of the interlocutor’s speech;
- In a Lada Samara car – 48%;
- In Lada Priora about 50-60%;
- In Lada Vesta about 70-73% of conversation;
- In foreign cars this level is 60-72%.
