An insider said that it will be a luxury sedan like the BMW 7 Series
The Chinese publication Yicai Global reported, citing an informed source, that the first model of an intelligent electric car jointly developed by Huawei and the Chinese automaker JAC Motors will be released to the market in the fourth quarter of this year. The source said the new car is a luxury sedan designed to compete with the Mercedes-Maybach, and not just a regular station wagon.
According to an insider, the development of Huawei and JAC will have characteristics similar to the BMW 7 Series, and its cost will be about 1 million yuan (almost $140 thousand). Production of electric vehicles will be established at a new plant in the eastern Chinese province of Anhui. The plant is currently under construction, which is almost completed.
Information that JAC and Huawei will present a jointly developed electric car appeared in December last year, but then no details about the upcoming model were disclosed.
