The eight-car train will be able to accelerate to 400 km/h
According to the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov, a draft version of the train for movement on the high-speed line (HSM) Moscow — St. Petersburg has already been finally selected and approved. Belozerov spoke about this during the ceremony to begin construction of the high-speed railway, which took place today, March 14.
According to the head of Russian Railways, an eight-car train with a maximum speed of 400 km/h will be built for the high-speed railway, and its cruising speed will be 360 km/h. Such a train can be doubled, that is, the layout will be either 8-car or 16-car. Design documentation is currently underway, Belozerov noted.
It is expected that the assembly of the train will begin in 2026, and in 2027 Russian Railways already plans to receive a domestic high-speed train. As we have already written, the «Sinara» group will produce such cars. at the site of «Ural Locomotives» in cooperation with «Transmashholding».
