The developers of Cyberpunk 2077 did the work for Microsoft and Intel? The game introduced its own thread scheduler for processor cores

Now you can only load large Intel CPU cores

Patch 2.11 was released for Cyberpunk 2077, which, among other things, brought a rather unexpected feature. Now gamers can choose for themselves which processor cores to use in the game.

The developers have added a Hybrid CPU Utilization option to the game, which allows gamers to make the game use only large cores from heterogeneous CPUs. The parameter can be either in Auto mode, and then, as always, the operating system and the Intel driver will handle thread scheduling, or in Prioritize P-Cores mode, in which the game will load only large CPU cores.

This applies only to Intel processors, since AMD, firstly, does not have a CPU with such different cores, and secondly, even if we count the Phoenix2 APU as such, there are only a few models and only for the mobile segment.

In fact, the game developers implemented their own thread scheduler, which apparently works better than a similar solution in Windows, otherwise it would not have been integrated into the game. However, it’s worth waiting for the tests.
