The gaming industry has a thriving culture of insiders and leaks of all kinds. Sometimes this has dire consequences

State of Decay creator and Undead Labs co-founder Jeff Strain suddenly decided to close his new studio, Possibility Space. She did not manage to send a single game for release, and the debut unannounced AAA project will remain unfinished.

Polygon journalists received the text of Strain’s letter to employees: he explained why It was decided to close the studio. It turned out that the matter was due to some kind of leak in the media – the developer received a letter from a Kotaku journalist who was preparing material about Possibility Space. He received a number of questions about their upcoming game, the publisher, and the closure of Crop Circle Games (Strain's other studio).

Jeff Strain said he was shocked that the information current employees leaked. After the leak was discovered, the publishing partner refused further funding, and they “mutually canceled” the project.

As a result, Jeff decided to immediately close the Possibility Space studio and leave the gaming industry altogether. He will take care of his family and take care of his sick wife.

It is noteworthy that it is still not clear what the employees of the Possibility Space studio could tell Kotaku. The studio was closed before the material was published.
