But demand is still high
The waiting time for deliveries of Nvidia H100 accelerators continues to decrease. Now we are talking about only 8-12 weeks.
Recall that less than a year ago the shortage was so great that deliveries had to wait up to a year. Then, at the end of 2023, Nvidia managed to seriously change the situation, reducing the time frame to three to four months. Now, as we see, we are talking about two or three months.
Despite the improvement in the supply situation, the demand for accelerators and systems based on them is still very high. In particular, the purchase of AI servers is displacing the purchase of general purpose servers.
Nvidia raises prices, and competitors lose orders. More expensive Nvidia accelerators are taking over the budgets allocated for AMD and Intel adapters
However, the reduction in delivery times may at least partially be due to a decrease in demand for the H100 from Nvidia itself. The bottom line is that some companies began to sell their accelerators and servers based on such accelerators, since the prices for renting such systems from giants like Amazon have decreased.
