Skoda has unveiled the new Octavia, confirming that the model strengthened its position as Skoda's best-selling last year with 191,900 units.
In 2024, the Octavia received improvements, design changes, a larger display and an upgraded engine range. The Czech brand also introduces the flagship Octavia RS with a more practical estate body.
The new Octavia gets new matrix LED headlights that emit glare-free adaptive high beams. They are an optional feature on lower trims but standard on the RS.
The 2024 Octavia comes with an updated set of alloy wheels ranging from 16 to 19 inches, as well as new colors such as Phoenix Orange and Mamba Green. The font used to identify the make and model has been redesigned, and the RS logo on the front and rear is larger.
The car features a new infotainment system with an enlarged 13-inch diagonal screen. Even the base version now has a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and dual-zone automatic climate control. Skoda has updated trim and upholstery options while retaining the ventilated and massaging front seats, available at extra cost.
The Octavia RS will only be offered with a petrol engine, meaning the 2-litre diesel that was offered with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive is no longer available. Skoda is also silent on the Octavia RS plug-in hybrid.
The regular Octavia has lost its three-cylinder 1 l TSI engine, meaning the range now starts with the larger 1.5l TSI engine. The four-cylinder unit is available in standard and mild hybrid configurations, and you can choose 114 hp. and 220 N·m or 148 hp. and 250 N·m. Non-electrified variants come with a six-speed manual gearbox, while the 48V variants get a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Models with the 1.5 L TSI engine are exclusively front-wheel drive.
The front-wheel drive-only flagship Octavia RS uses an upgraded 2.0 TSI engine, now producing 261 hp, an increase of 20 hp. more compared to the model before restyling. In 2025, Skoda is going to introduce an all-wheel drive petrol version with a 2l TSI engine with 201 hp, transmitted to both axles via DSG. This is 13 hp. more than the previous model with this engine.
For the regular Octavia, a 2 l TDI diesel engine with 114 hp is still available. and 300 N·m or 148 hp. and 360 N·m. The former uses a manual transmission, while the latter is an automatic transmission only, with both having a front-wheel drive setup.
Skoda offers the 2024 Octavia in Essence, Selection, Sportline and RS variants. Equipment Laurin & Klement cancelled.
