We recently learned that iOS 18 will feature a chatbot based on the OpenAI GPT language model. It will probably be the same Siri, only much more modern and possibly with a new name. One way or another, this innovation will not appear in iOS 18 immediately, but only next year.
Bloomberg reports that Siri AI (name tentative) will be delayed until 2025. It will be presented at the WWDC 2024 event. It may be available as a beta version immediately upon the launch of iOS 18, but the full function will not be available initially.
It is unclear for what reasons exactly, but it may be either Apple's desire to bring Siri AI to perfection, or some nuances of the deal between Apple and OpenAI. It also cannot be ruled out that some other functions with artificial intelligence will also not appear in iOS 18 immediately after its release.
