Chery once again confirmed the release of Tiggo 9 on the Russian market, but the updated Tiggo 7
could become a hit
Deputy General Director of Chery International Sun Spring revealed three new company products for Russia, which should be released this year. Actually, one of them has already been released: a couple of days ago they introduced Chery Tiggo 4 Pro 18 Years Edition. This is the most compact new product. In addition to it, this year the updated Tiggo 7 and the flagship Tiggo 9 will appear on the Russian market.
What the updated Tiggo 7 is is still unclear, but Tiggo 9 has long been declassified. This is the largest Chery crossover: length is 4820 mm, wheelbase — 2820 mm. It is based on the T1X platform. In interior equipment — a panel with two 12.3-inch diagonal screens, a media system based on SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155, Sony acoustics with 14 speakers. Under the hood — 2.0-liter turbo engine with 261 hp, combined with a 7-speed «robot» Getrag, but it is possible that the car will receive a proprietary 8-speed automatic transmission. The drive can be either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
A couple of days ago, the Telegram channel No Limits reported that the production of Exeed cars could be established in Russia at the former Mercedes-Benz plant, and Tiggo 9 could also be assembled there. As for the updated Tiggo 7, it will obviously become more expensive than the current Tiggo 7 Pro. And then Chery will be able to breed the new model with the current Tiggo 7 Pro, the assembly of which under the XCITE brand was established at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg.
And this year, completely new Tiggo will appear in Russia.
