The electric replacement will appear in three years at best, and maybe later
According to Auto, Motor und Sport, Audi will not discontinue the Audi A8 luxury sedan this year and replace it with an electric car, as was originally planned three years ago. The main reason — there is good demand for this machine in China, a key market.
«No production planned at the moment», — A company representative commented on the prospect of releasing an electric successor to the current Audi A8 sedan. He did not reveal the exact reasons for the temporary cancellation of the large flagship electric sedan, but simply cited good sales of the current model in China.
So it turns out that the assembly line life of the current Audi A8 will not end this year. The retirement is being canceled due to good demand in China, slowing demand for electric vehicles in other markets and the unavailability of an electric successor. But even in its current form, the car will not be produced for the next three (or even more) years — another «facelift» is coming.
