Hogwarts Legacy tried to cancel people with an active lifestyle in the West, but in the end something went wrong. For the first time since 2008, the best-selling game of the year in the United States was not some Call of Duty or a Rockstar Games title.

Hogwarts Legacy and its developers found themselves in the crosshairs of active social media users even before release. The reason for dissatisfaction at first was not the game content, but JK Rowling, who made (as they believe) a number of incorrect statements.

Hogwarts Legacy was actively tried to be canceled and even persecuted players and streamers, urged not to buy such a game so as not to support JK Rowling. If the activists' call worked, it was not very effective.

The fact is that Hogwarts Legacy was able to “change history”: in 2023 it became the best-selling game (22 editions). + million copies), as well as the best-selling game in the United States – for about 15 years, the first place in the region went to Call of Duty or Rockstar Games.
