SoC Snapdragon for Galaxy will see several more new generations
Even though Samsung has brought back its Exynos SoC in the current generation of flagship smartphones (the Exynos 2400 is used in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus in some regions), the company is not going to abandon American SoCs for future flagships . As Qualcomm announced during its Q4 2023 earnings call, its multi-year Snapdragon SoC agreement with Samsung has been extended.
«We are also announcing the extension of our multi-year agreement with Samsung for Snapdragon platforms to launch Galaxy flagship smartphones starting in 2024. The expanded agreement demonstrates the value of Snapdragon 8, our technology leadership and our successful long-term strategic partnership with Samsung– reported Qualcomm.
True, this does not mean that Samsung will abandon its Exynos SoCs for future flagships: according to rumors, for the Galaxy S25 line the company is preparing a 3-nanometer Exynos 2500 platform, which will include the Arm Cortex-X5 supercore , five Arm Cortex-A720 and four Arm Cortex-A530 cores, as well as GPU Xclipse 950.
