The social network began to automatically hide obscene words
Social network «Odnoklassniki» started automatically hiding profanity. Now the platform detects obscene words, and users will see stars instead. According to the OK team, the new functionality has become the next step towards the development of a comfortable environment for communication on the social network.
The new technology automatically recognizes obscene words and their derivatives, the innovation affected any public texts: posts, statuses, captions under photographs and videos, names and descriptions of groups. The developers note that this measure is designed to reduce the level of toxic communication among social network users, especially in comments. The update is already available, but you can refuse it: go to your profile settings, in the «Publicity» select «Advanced» and turn off the option «Enable obscene language filtering».
At the same time, according to OK, over the past four years, users have become noticeably less swearing in texts posted on the social network: this figure has fallen by 58%.
