Sky Gates previously flew on Boeing
New details have emerged surrounding the Russian cargo plane Il-96-400T, which made its first commercial flight on December 10 carrying goods from abroad, about which we have already reported.
As it became known, the airliner with the number RA-96103 was released in 2009 and until 2013 was operated by the airline Polet, which had left the market. Sky Gates previously flew two Boeing 747-400F aircraft, but lost these aircraft and suspended operations in 2022 due to sanctions. Today the airline has another cargo aircraft, Il-76TD.
It is reported that this Il-96-400T was claimed by another Russian air carrier – private Air Bridge Cargo. In March of this year, she reported that she expected to receive RA-96103, as well as another one remaining from «Polet» aircraft of this model with number RA-96101.
However, as the Telegram channel «e-Prom | Import substitution in industry, Sky Gates was helped by the fact that the company was acquired by Red Wings Airlines, which belongs to the United Aircraft Corporation, which produces aircraft of the Il-96 family.
