Nvidia doesn't want price cuts for RTX 40 graphics cards. The company will reduce GPU production ahead of the RTX 50 launch and free up capacity for the H100

RTX 50 expected in the fall

Nvidia is allegedly already preparing to reduce supplies of RTX 40 generation GPUs in anticipation of the release of the RTX 50 line.

Quazarzone resource says that Nvidia has already informed its partners that the supply of GPUs will be sharply reduced. True, it is not specified which ones, and this is unlikely to apply to all GPUs. Considering that Nvidia usually initially launches only top-end video cards of the new generation, it hardly makes sense to reduce GPU supplies for the RTX 4060 now.

But Nvidia has another reason to cut supplies. By reducing GPU production for the RTX 40, Nvidia will free up capacity to produce more GPUs for the H100 accelerators, and at the same time will not allow the prices of current generation GeForce adapters to significantly decrease.
