Discounts can reach 15% of the recommended retail price
Against the background of overstocking of warehouses, Nissan allowed dealers in the USA to sell cars at a decent discount relative to the recommended retail price.
Cars sit on Nissan dealer lots for an average of 98 days before being purchased, according to Cox Automotive. To stimulate sales and relieve congestion in anticipation of the launch of new models (for example, the new Nissan Kicks), the automaker allowed dealers to sell cars at a 10% discount from the recommended retail price. And the discount on a large Nissan Armada can reach 15%.
Losses in this case fall on the shoulders of the dealers themselves, but, at the same time, it gives them more freedom when selling cars and allows them to reduce overhead costs.
Despite the fact that discounts may apply to almost the entire model range, in reality they are offered only on models and trim levels that are not in great demand. For example, there are no discounts on the Nissan GT-R or Nissan Pathfinder 2024 Platinum priced at $52 thousand.
