Motorola introduced a new smartphone Edge (2024). The device is intended for the US market; it resembles the international Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, but with a number of differences. For example, Motorola Edge (2024) supports 15W wireless charging. It also has 68W wired fast charging: the manufacturer claims that the 5000 mAh battery can charge 50% in 15 minutes.
Motorola Edge (2024) received a 6.6-inch P-OLED screen curved on both sides with FHD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The peak brightness of the display is 1300 nits, refresh rate — 144 Hz, and the PWM frequency — 720 Hz. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The smartphone is built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC, equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory; it runs on Android 14 OS «out of the box».
The main camera of the device received a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia 700C sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), it is complemented by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, which is also suitable for macro photography. The camera can record video in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, or 1080p at 60 frames per second. The front camera has a resolution of 32 megapixels.
Communication capabilities of the Motorola Edge (2024) include 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. The smartphone has two SIM cards: there is one nano format slot, and the second — eSIM. Motorola Edge (2024) is thicker and heavier than its predecessor: 8.1 mm and 174 g versus 7.6 mm and 168 g, but the battery is also more capacious: 5000 mAh versus 4300 mAh. The back panel of the smartphone is made of artificial leather, it is protected from water and dust according to the IP68 standard. The release of the new product in the USA will take place on June 20, it will be sold for $550.
