These are desktop processors
Intel has already introduced Lunar Lake mobile processors, which should provide revolutionary energy efficiency for the x86 architecture. Now there are details about desktop Arrow Lake-S, which will replace the current 14th generation Core (Raptor Lake Refresh).
The launch of new CPUs within the Core Ultra 200 line will take place in October. Let us remind you that Ryzen 9000, with which Intel’s new products will have to compete, goes on sale on July 31. Arrow Lake-S will be announced in September.
The new CPUs will be based on the same Lion Cove and Skymont cores as mobile Lunar Lake. Only there will be much more cores, and power limits will be significantly higher. However, let us remind you that all the leaks indicate the lack of Hyper-Threading support even for large cores.
But power consumption should be approximately 80% of what current CPUs consume. This is a fairly significant reduction, although whether it is enough to compete with the new Ryzen 9000 is an open question.
