On May 16, a fire broke out at a BYD store in Fuzhou, causing the entire showroom with cars to burn to the ground.
According to reports from Fujian, Straits Metropolis Daily and other media, the cars in the showroom were completely burned, and many cars nearby were seriously damaged.
There were electric cars and hybrids in the cabin. Presumably, the fire started in one of the cars. Local residents said that they woke up from an explosion.
There have been about a dozen fires at BYD stores in two and a half years, with four stores burning to the ground in less than a month last December. In addition, several cases of fires were recorded in car transporters that transported BYD cars using new energy sources.
One Weibo user wrote: «One or two times can be called a coincidence, three or four times can be called bad luck, but more than ten times in two years! Even if the fire has nothing to do with the car or battery, such frequent fires should attract attention».
